Whatever breed of dog the Obama family chooses to get for themselves, that breed will become the new trendy breed of dog to have. The Obamas might be having a hard time finding a hypoallergenic dog in shelters now, but in two years, they’ll be full of them. Today’s trendy dogs are next year’s abandoned dogs. People get them because they’re trendy, not because they’re actually prepared for the responsibilities of pet ownership.
So, if you too want a hypoallergenic dog, just wait a year. You’ll be able to find one, cheap.
