Ergotism

I try to write about things that are interesting (at least to me), things that are funny, but writing about me being angry is not very interesting.

I’m gonna do it anyway.

Thanks, everybody, for voting for Prop 8 in California and Act 1 in Arkansas. Boy you really stuck it to those gay people! I bet it feels good, huh? I mean, you didn’t manage to actually make anybody un-gay or anything, but you did manage to make a lot of gay people real sad and break up hundreds of thousands of families. Way to go!

And way to close ranks too. Man, that one priest who thought that maybe being mean to gay people wasn’t cool — you sure showed him where the bear sits. Thanks for sticking true to your principles, Catholic Church. You guys never fail to disappoint me. When Catholic Bishops really get organized, there’s nothing they can’t do! The Knights Of Columbus chipped in for a million big ones! And the Mormons helped too! Boy, that’s what I call a community really coming together for a common purpose.

I never want to hear about the beautiful traditions, or the mysterious mystical rites ever again. The KKK has some mystical rites too, you know. Of course, we think their rites have no aesthetic beauty because they stand for hatred. But somehow the Catholics get a free pass. They get to institute bigotry but we still have to respect them.

Fuck your stupid incense and your ugly hats. You wanna play hardball? You wanna be a home wrecker? Catholics don’t wanna respect gay marriage? Fine. Then I don’t respect Catholic marriage. You wanna support an organization which goes to great lengths to say that gay marriage doesn’t count? Fine. Then your marriage as ordained by this same hate-organization doesn’t count either. It’s fake love. Your family is a fake. Your supposed bonds of love are not legitimate in my eyes. Let’s see how you like it for a change.
