You may or may not be aware, but the guy who runs the now super-popular political website fivethirtyeight.com, Nate Silver, has been a big deal in baseball stat-head circles for a long while. He has a system of making baseball projections called PECOTA, which is short for something very impressive sounding that I forget right now.
At any rate, here’s a list of whose pre-season baseball predictions were the best, and whose were the worst. Nate Silver wins again. He knows what he’s talking about when it comes to statistical projections. He says that Obama has about a 72% chance to win.
