But Why Can’t She Be Vice President?

Hillary Clinton is now saying that she’d accept the vice presidential spot on the ticket. That’s all well and good, but does she really want to be on the ticket with a guy who isn’t prepared to be the Commander in Chief?

If she were to be the Vice Presidential nominee, we’d see that clip every day until the election. Oh, look. The McCain campaign is already using it.

With the general election set to begin, the McCain camp emailed out this now-notorous video of Hillary a few weeks ago putting herself and McCain on the same “commander in chief” plane and saying that all Obama has to bring to the table is “a speech that he gave in 2002″…

I got in touch with McCain’s internet guru, Patrick Hynes. He made their strategy on this as clear as you could want.

“Senator Clinton articulated the fundamental difference between John McCain and Barack Obama as well as anyone,” Hynes told me.

I’m sorry. It might have been nice if she could have been on the ticket. But, the fact is, she let down her own supporters and her own party with her empty but vicious attacks on the nominee. She blew it.
