In case you missed this beauty of an interview with our Vice President, I’ll post a snippet here. To me this one question and answer sums up the entire Bush/Cheney administration.
Q: … Two-thirds of Americans say it’s not worth fighting, and they’re looking at the value gain versus the cost in American lives, certainly, and Iraqi lives.
THE VICE PRESIDENT: So?
“So?” is probably the best comeback to any question whatsoever, if you’re ten years old or a complete douchebag.
Q So — you don’t care what the American people think?
THE VICE PRESIDENT: No, I think you cannot be blown off course by the fluctuations in the public opinion polls…
No true leader would be swayed by a mere fluctuation in a public opinion poll. Now, the word, fluctuation, implies that something which goes down will come back up again. Except, never before in history has public opinion turned against a war only to turn back in favor of that war. What it means that it’s not a fluctuation, Dick.
